My sister has a countdown for any vacation and she just loves the anticipation. That makes me smile too 😊

I love that idea - and I'm going to adopt it!

Best gifts I've been given - #1 my son was born on my birthday and #2 for our 2024 birthdays, he planned a day at the Zoo with a private opportunity to feed the Penquin's and he let me drive his vintage 2 seater convertible.

Those are both great examples - and what an amazing day he planned (good parenting, clearly)!

Memories are preferred. I've always researched events, travel, day trips, etc that will create memories that will be eternal whether it is to celebrate a milestone or as a gift.

And I bet that planning makes you - and the recipients - happy!

I completely agree! I absolutely love the planning and anticipation of an upcoming trip or special event. I think gifting and enjoying experiences is the best thing you can do to create lasting memories.

Well said! But sometimes it's difficult to get a good fit between the giver and giftee when experiences are concerned... My Mom had a saying that the best gifts all began with "F": Food, Flowers, Fun (and Funds), Fotos of Family in cheap Frames, Fragrances... maybe Fluffy Fabrics for Feet. All these are relatively low-key, and they don't go into the re-gift closet!

I love that saying - and fuzzy socks are one of my favorite gifts to give and receive (and of course food!)
